April 2, 2025 - In 2025, Ford Performance will bring its Mustang Challenge to Le Mans. A select number of Mustang Dark Horse R race cars will be brought to Europe, giving European drivers the chance to participate in this unique event.
During the Le Mans Invitational—a special race program held in the lead-up to the 24 Hours of Le Mans—participants will have the opportunity to compete on the world’s most legendary endurance circuit, in a car that breathes pure American motorsport heritage.
European Drivers get the chance to join
For the first time, the Mustang Challenge will be integrated into the Le Mans Invitational, an exclusive race held during the renowned Le Mans week. This means that drivers will not only get the chance to race on the iconic Circuit de la Sarthe, but also become part of the magic and grandeur of this event.
The Ford Mustang Challenge
The Mustang Challenge is a single-make racing series centered around the Mustang Dark Horse R. Ford Performance developed this model as a pure race car, built for intense competition and closely related to the legendary street version.
The Mustang Challenge has already been a great success in the United States and is now expanding to Europe for the first time. Le Mans provides the perfect stage for this historic milestone. More information about the competition can be found on the Ford Performance website.
